Upcoming 7-Seater SUVs To Rival Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari

7-seater SUVs have also been popular in India; however, the introduction of mid-sized 7-seater SUVs have further accelerated the demand for bigger cars. This segment is currently dominated by Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. In the next couple of years, 3 all-new 7-seater mid-sized SUVs will be launched in our market to challenge the likes of the Mahindra XUV700 and the Safari.

Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater

Maruti Suzuki is preparing a wide range of cars including the new Swift twins, new electric vehicles and new 7-seater SUV. The new 7-seater SUV from Maruti Suzuki will be launched in our market sometime in early 2025. The new SUV will be based on the Suzuki’s Global C platform that underpins the Grand Vitara and the Brezza. It could be the Long Wheelbase version of the Grand Vitara, and is most likely to be offered with petrol and strong hybrid engines.

Internally codenamed Y17, the new 7-seater SUV will be manufactured at the brand’s upcoming Kharkhoda plant. It is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. The SUV is likely to be showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo. The SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.5L K15C petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech. Both manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox options will be on offer. It could also receive Toyota’s 1.5L 3-cylinder strong hybrid engine with higher fuel efficiency. Renault Duster 7-Seater

We informed you earlier that Renault will launch the third-generation Duster SUV in the Indian market in 2025. The company will also introduce a new 7-seater version of the Duster, which is rumoured to be the production version of the Bigster concept. The 7-seater SUV has been spotted testing with heavy camouflage ahead of its global debut towards the end of this year. It will be positioned against the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.

The 7-seater Duster will underpin the CMF-B platform, which also underpins the new Duster. It will measure around 4.6 meters in length and will have a slightly longer wheelbase. The new model will also share most of its design elements, features and components with its younger sibling. The Renault Duster 7-seater is expected to be powered by the 130bhp, 1.2-litre turbo petrol with a 48 starter motor. The SUV could also get a 1.6L 4-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain, which comprises a 1.2kWh battery pack and two electric motors. Read More…

Nissan 7-Seater SUV

Similar to the new Duster and Bigster 7-seater SUVs, Nissan will also launch two new SUVs based on the alliance’s CMF-B modular architecture. The 7-seater SUV is expected to be launched sometime in late 2025. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari. Not just architecture, the SUV is also likely to share the engine options with the Renault sibling.
