Maruti Suzuki is ready to launch the new generations of the popular Swift and Dzire compact sedan in the Indian market. While the new Swift has already made its debut in Japan, the new 2024 Maruti Dzire compact sedan has been spotted testing a couple of times on the Indian roads. The spy images reveal some key details including the design and interior changes. In this article, we talk about the top 5 things we know about the upcoming new-gen Dzire compact sedan –
More Evolved Design
The new Dzire is more of an evolution than a big overhaul when it comes to design over the existing model. However, it has received some styling changes to keep things fresh in the market. It will be based on the heavily modified version of Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the Baleno hatchback.
The spy images reveal that the 2024 Maruti Dzire will come with a different larger grille, a clamshell bonnet, new bumper with prominent cuts & creases, and new 5-spoke alloy wheels. It will have new pillars and doors, and slightly revised rear profile with new bumper and slightly tweaked tail-lights.
All-New Interior (Inspired From Fronx, Baleno)
Similar to the new Swift, the new-gen Maruti Dzire sedan will share the interior with the new Fronx and the Baleno hatchback. The hatchback will have a dual-tone interior scheme in lighter shade. The dashboard will be dominated by a freestanding touchscreen infotainment unit, a new instrument console with a digital MID, a new steering wheel and automatic AC with toggle-style controls, and rear air-con vents.
New Petrol Engine
The new Dzire will be powered by Suzuki’s new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine that debuted in the new Swift. This 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine is capable of producing 82bhp at 5700rpm and a peak torque of 108Nm at 4,500rpm. The mild hybrid version has a DC synchronous motor, which offers an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1hp and 60Nm, respectively.
Transmission choices are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The Japanese-spec Swift is also available with a new CVT automatic gearbox. MSIL could also add CVT in some of the top-spec variants of the new Dzire.
Electric Sunroof
The previous spy images confirm that the new Dzire will be the first model in its category to feature a factory-fitted electric sunroof. This will give it a competitive advantage, as Honda Amaze will also receive a new-generation model this year. More details…
Bigger Touchscreen Infotainment Unit
The new generation Dzire will come fitted with a large 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, which is the same available in the Fronx and Baleno. The infotainment unit will be compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and voice command. The sedan will come with a semi-digital instrument console, an automatic AC, keyless entry and go, etc. It is also likely to receive a 360 degree camera and an auto dimming IRVM.
