Honda Cars India has revised the prices of the City e:HEV sedan, which was introduced in May 2022. Alongside the price hike, the company has removed the V variant from the sedan model lineup. Previously, the Honda City Hybrid was available in two variants – V and ZX – priced at Rs 19 lakh and Rs 20.50 lakh, respectively. Following the price increase, the top-end ZX trim now costs Rs 20.55 lakh for the solid color model and Rs 21.35 lakh for the metallic painted version. This translates to an increase of Rs 16,100 and Rs 88,100 for the solid and metallic shade models, respectively. It’s important to note that the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
Talking about the color options, the Honda City Hybrid comes in four metallic (Lunar Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic) and two solid (Obsidian Blue Pearl and Platinum White Pearl) color choices.
The Honda City e:HEV hybrid powertrain setup includes an Atkinson Cycle 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors. The first motor functions as an electric generator, while the second one propels the vehicle. Honda claims that the City hybrid offers a fuel efficiency of 26.5 kmpl and a range of 1,000 km. In comparison, the standard City petrol with CVT gearbox delivers 18.4 kmpl. The sedan’s hybrid version features an eCVT and a battery pack fitted in the boot. In start/stop driving conditions, the model runs in electric-only mode. Its power and torque figures stand at 126 bhp and 253 Nm, respectively.
Honda has equipped the City Hybrid with numerous advanced features including the Honda Sensing Suite, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Honda Connect with Amazon Echo and Google Assistant integration, electric sunroof, ambient lighting, 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, lane watch cameras, vehicle stability assist, Isofix rear seats, hill start assist, ORVM-mounted lane watch cameras, and many more.
