All-New Maruti Swift Launching On 9th May – New Engine, More Features

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is finally set to hit showrooms on May 9, 2024. This time, the hatchback will witness significant upgrades in design, features, technology, and engine mechanism. One of the major changes will be made under its engine bay, as the new 2024 Maruti Swift will come equipped with Suzuki’s all-new 1.2L Z-Series petrol engine, which can also be had with mild hybrid technology.

The new gasoline unit will deliver a maximum power of 82bhp and 108Nm of torque. The mild hybrid version will feature a DC synchronous motor that will increase its power and torque figures by 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively, making the hatchback more fuel-efficient.The new Swift is expected to achieve a fuel efficiency of 23.4kmpl (regular petrol) and 24.5kmpl (mild hybrid), with both manual and AMT gearboxes available.

The new 2024 Maruti Swift has been seen in multiple spy images, revealing that the new model will share features with the Fronx compact crossover and Baleno hatch. Inside, there will be a new dual-tone black and beige theme with an all-new dashboard, a flat-bottom steering wheel, analogue dials with MID, keyless entry, automatic air conditioning, ventilated seats, and more. Similar to the Fronx, it will offer a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

While the Japan-spec new Swift gets ADAS tech, the India-spec version is likely to omit it. However, the hatchback’s top-end variants could come with six airbags, brake assist, ABS with EBD, and many more safety features. The new 2024 Maruti Swift will be longer than before, measuring 3860mm in length, 1695mm in width, and 1500mm in height. While its overall length will increase by 15mm, the width and height will be reduced by 40mm and 30mm, respectively. Major changes will also be made to its design.
