Maruti Suzuki’s top-selling model, the Dzire compact sedan, is set to enter its fourth generation during the 2024 festive season. The new model is currently undergoing initial testing and has been spotted several times wearing heavy camouflage. The 2024 Maruti Dzire will feature an improved design, upmarket interior, and an all-new Z-Series petrol engine. Most of its design elements will mirror those of the new-gen Swift, slated for release on May 9, 2024.
The compact sedan will adopt front fenders, bonnet, and conventionally positioned door handles similar to the new Swift hatchback. What sets the new Dzire apart from its predecessor are the redesigned grille with additional chrome inserts, a differently designed and straighter roofline, new rear glass and taillamps, and a flatter rear boot design. Compared to the current generation, the new Dzire will offer increased boot space.
The interior will also bear a strong resemblance to the new Swift. The 2024 Maruti Dzire will feature more brushed aluminum and faux wood inserts and lighter shade materials. In terms of features, expect a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an auto climate control system, a large digital MID, and keyless entry and go. Reports suggest that the compact sedan may also come equipped with a 360-degree camera. Recent spy images indicate that the new Dzire will be the first vehicle in its segment to come with a sunroof.
Under the hood, the 2024 Maruti Dzire will feature a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol (Z 12E) engine delivering a maximum power of 82bhp and 108Nm of torque. The same engine will also be available with mild hybrid technology, which boosts power and torque by 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively. The standard petrol and mild hybrid powertrains are expected to offer fuel efficiency ratings of 23.4kmpl and 24.5kmpl, respectively.
