The Mahindra XUV 3XO, the heavily updated version of the XUV300 subcompact SUV, has been launched in India with significant design changes and feature upgrades. The new model is offered in nine trims: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 L, AX7 and AX7 L. The prices for the new XUV 3XO range from Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (all ex-showroom), thus making it cheaper than the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet that cost Rs 8.15 lakh – Rs 15.80 lakh, Rs 7.94 lakh – Rs 13.90 lakh and Rs 7.99 lakh – Rs 15.75 lakh, respectively. Although the engine setup is carried over from the XUV300, there are major enhancements in terms of design and features.

Design Changes
The new Mahindra XUV 3XO SUV’s design is heavily inspired by Mahindra’s upcoming BE electric SUVs. At the front, it features all-LED headlights with integrated new daytime running lights (DRLs), a newly designed grille, a revised bumper with a larger central air intake, and a more angular nose. While the side profile remains largely unchanged, the new set of 17-inch alloy wheels with a dark chrome finish (for higher trims) distinguishes it from its predecessor. The rear section has been completely revamped, with an updated tailgate design featuring a full-width LED light bar, a bumper-integrated registration plate, and sleeker C-shaped taillamps.
Features Upgrades
The interior layout of the Mahindra XUV 3XO is similar to the XUV400 Pro electric SUV. It is also the first car in its segment to offer a panoramic sunroof measuring 940mm in length and 870mm in width. The subcompact SUV includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an updated 7-speaker Harman Kardon music system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 65W Type C charging port in the front, rear Type-C charger, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, a powered driver’s seat, ambient sound modes, rear AC vents, and more. Safety and ADAS
One of the significant highlights of the XUV 3XO is its Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology, providing enhanced safety to occupants. Additionally, the new Mahindra subcompact SUV has six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, hill descent control, rear disc brakes, blind spot monitor, brake disc wiping, roll over mitigation, traction control system, vehicle dynamics control, and an electronic stability program (ESP).
Dimensions
The approach and departure angles of the new Mahindra subcompact SUV stand at 23.6 degree and 39.6 degree, respectively. It has a water wading depth of 350mm and a 2600mm long wheelbase. The XUV 3XO is claimed to offer best-in-class forward visibility of 23.7 degree. Mahindra claims that the model offers a boot space of 295-litres, which is more than its predecessor.
Engine Options
The engine lineup remains unchanged from the XUV300, offering a choice of three powertrains: a 111 bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol; a 131 bhp, 1.2L direct-injection turbo petrol; and a 117 bhp, 1.5L diesel. The 131 bhp petrol engine now comes with a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Mileage, Suspension
Mahindra claims that the new XUV 3XO promises a mileage of 18.89kmpl (Petrol-MT) , 17.96kmpl (Petrol-AT), 20.6kmpl (Diesel-MT), 21.2kmpl (Diesel-AMT), 18.2kmpl (TGDi Petrol-AT) and 20.1kmpl (TGDi Petrol-MT). Furthermore, the subcompact SUV accelerates 0 to 60kmph in 4.5 seconds and offers three drive modes – Zip, Zap and Zoom.
The subcompact SUV model lineup also offers 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Its suspension setup includes independent MacPherson upfront and semi-independent twist beam at the rear.
