Bajaj Chetak – Variants Explained

Bajaj Auto finally launched the most affordable Chetak electric scooter. Including it, the brand now has three different Chetak variants. But apart from their pricing, what else is different on the trio? Here is the answer.

Chetak 2901

The Chetak 2901 is the most affordable and latest model in the lineup. It costs Rs. 95,998 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and gets the smallest battery pack from the entire Chetak range. The 2901 is powered by a 2.8kWh battery with a 123km range and 63kmph top speed. Surprisingly, if you opt for the Chetak 2901 in its standard trim, it offers the same top speed and more range than the Urbane standard.

On the feature front, the Chetak Urbane comes with LED illumination, Eco mode, and a digital screen. But if you spend Rs. 3,000 more and opt for the Tec Pac, then the Chetak 2901 also comes with Sports riding mode, hill hold, reverse mode, call and music control, and smartphone connectivity. You can purchase the Chetak 2901 in five colours – Ebony Black Met, Racing Red, Cyber White, Azure Blue, and Lime Yellow.

Chetak Urbane

The Urbane sits between the 2901 and the Premium. It is priced at Rs. 1,23,319 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and is available in four colours – Matte Coarse Grey, Cyber White, Brooklyn Black, and Indigo Metallic. The Chetak Urbane uses a 2.9kWh battery that gives it 113km of range with a top speed of 63kmph. You can purchase the Chetak Urbane with the Pro Pack which gives it the Sport mode, reverse mode, hill hold, and a fob key and costs Rs. 8,000 over the asking price.

Chetak Premium

Last but not least, the Premium is the top-spec Chetak. It costs Rs. 1,47,243 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and is the most expensive variant of all. The Chetak Premium gets the highest range of 123km and a top speed of 73kmph. It too gets the Tec Pac for Rs. 9,000 and includes features like hill hold, reverse mode, smartphone connectivity, sequential blinkers, call and SMS alert, and navigation too. You can purchase the Chetak Premium in three colours – Brooklyn Black, Hazlenut, and Indigo Blue.
