Subcompact SUVs changed the general notion attached to the full-size sport utility vehicles, known for their ruggedness, muscularity and off-road ability. No one had imagined that SUVs would be squeezed to sub four-meter length and tailored for city driving or tuned to return mileage as good as a hatchback.
