Citroen is currently selling the two locally developed models under its C-Cubed Programme – the C3 and C3 Aircross in India. However, both models failed to generate volumes for the French automaker. There are multiple reasons including the small dealer network behind the low sales, but the lack of key features is one big reason.
These models are equipped with very basic features, which are offered on several entry-level cars in the country. In fact, the C3 Aircross mid-sized SUV misses out on features like automatic AC, foldable key, rear AC vents in the 5-seater version and LED lighting system. Ashwani Muppasani, COO, Stellantis India and Asia Pacific confirms that the models will soon receive some key features.
Both models will receive comprehensive makeover in 2025; however, the current model will soon receive these key features. The company will add automatic air conditioning in both the models by July this year. In fact, a foldable key will come even sooner. Both models are also likely to receive LED headlights.
Citroen is also preparing the C3X crossover sedan, which was earlier planned to be launched in mid-2024. However, the launch has been delayed and is now expected in late 2024 or early next year. The new Citroen C3X will come with all these features and will be equipped with more features to bring in more customers. It is likely to be equipped with powered ORVMs, automatic AC, cruise control, wireless charging, LED headlamps, keyless entry, ventilated front seats and a sunroof. These features will also come in the C3 Aircross facelift in 2024.
