Skoda Kushaq & Slavia Facelifts In The Works

Czech automaker Skoda is planning to introduce a wide range of new models including Enyaq EV and the new-gen Superb in the Indian market. The company has recently confirmed that it will launch a new sub-4 meter SUV in our market in early 2025. Skoda will also launch the upgraded versions of its two locally developed models – the Kushaq and Slavia.

Both models have received a maximum 5 star crash test rating from Global NCAP. However, it still misses out on ADAS tech. This tech is now available in most of its rivals. In fact, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUVs are also equipped with Level 1 ADAS tech with features like Lane assist, autonomous emergency braking and others.

It is expected that the facelifted versions of the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia will receive ADAS tech. Both models are also likely to receive some design changes in the form of reworked grille, updated bumper and new internals for headlamps. The cabin is likely to receive minor changes in the form of new upholstery and improved touchscreen infotainment unit.

Skoda is also likely to add more features in the updated versions of the Kushaq and Slavia. Most of the rivals are equipped with features like 360 degree parking camera and electronic parking brake, which are missing in the Slavia and Kushaq. Adding to it, the updated models could also get panoramic sunroof and drive modes.

Both models will retain the existing engine options including a 115bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI and 150bhp, 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor (1.0L only) and a 7-speed DSG (1.5L Only). The 1.5L TSI also has the fuel-saving cylinder deactivation technology.
