KTM recently updated its ultra-exclusive, limited-edition track tool, the RC 8C, for 2024. Just like the previous model, this model year will be limited to just 100 units and each one will set the buyers back by USD 41,499 ((approximately Rs. 34.37 lakh sans taxes). Why so expensive, you ask? Let us give you a lowdown on why it’s special enough to justify that price tag.
Powered by an LC8c, 889cc, DOHC, eight-valve, parallel-twin engine, the motorcycle belts out 135kg and weighs just 142kg (dry). That results in a staggering power-to-weight ratio of close to 1-to-1!
The light weight is courtesy of light hardware components and a bodywork that’s entirely made up of Carbon Kevlar.
The powerhouse of an engine is accompanied by an Akrapovic titanium muffler which works with a specifically engineered air box and racing air filter for an added punch.
Matching its engine performance are ultra-premium components like a fully adjustable WP Apex suspension setup, race-spec Brembo brakes at both ends, Dymag wheels, and Pirelli race slicks.
Besides all the electronic aids that are common in sportbikes, the RC 8C gets a five-inch TFT housing a race dash, and data logger with built-in GPS functionality.
Pre-orders for this RC 8C will begin on KTM’s official website at 3 pm on 20 March. The registration amount is set to EUR 1,000.
Amongst the 100 buyers of the 2024 KTM RC 8C, 30 lucky ones will get the chance to rip their bikes around a racetrack in Portimao, Portugal on 7-9 May, 2024.
