5 Easy Ways to Clean the Interiors of Your Car at Home

Cleaning the interior of your car at home can be a really daunting task to carry out, especially when you don’t have the required equipment and chemicals. Getting rid of the debris, dirt and stains is not at all a cakewalk as it takes a lot of effort and skill. Hence, in this piece, we are offering a few easy tips to keep the interior of your car clean and fresh.

1. Eliminate Debris

You can begin by removing the debris inside the cabin of your car. Waste stuff such as food wrappers, leaves and dust can be collected with the help of a cotton cloth, in case you don’t have a vacuum cleaner at home. The floor mats, seats and carpet area can be cleaned with a brush to remove all the debris.

2. Clean Fabric Area

If your car comes with a fabric upholstery, then it is highly recommended to use a fabric cleaner. For the unversed, fabric cleaner is specifically developed to remove the stains from the fabric interiors of a car. All you need to do is follow the instructions that come along with the manual of the cleaner which includes applying it on the seats and other fabric areas by using a piece of cloth or sponge. Gently rub the stain areas and bingo, the stains will be eliminated instantly.

3. Mop Leather/Vinyl Surfaces

In case your car comes with a leather/vinyl upholstery, it is advised to go for a leather cleaner. Take a clean cloth and put some cleaner on it. Next, wipe the upholstery gently while at the same time ensuring that you don’t use too much water as it can potentially cause damage to the seats and upholstery. Once the cleaning part is done, take a dry cloth, preferably cotton, and smother the surfaces in order to get rid of the excessive moisture present, if any.

4. Eradicate Odour

The easiest way to remove odors is to spray a definite quantity of baking soda on the fabric areas of your car and let it settle down for a few hours. You can also perform this action overnight so that the baking soda gets ample time to sit on the surfaces of your car. After the duration of a few hours, you can remove the baking soda by the help of a vacuum cleaner from the surfaces along with the odors. There are numerous odor-neutralizing solutions available in the market at a reasonable price and you can also opt for these.

5. Disinfect the AC vents

You can use a vent air freshener for this purpose. These smart and small gadgets tend to stick to the air vents while releasing a pleasing smell. It is suggested to follow the directions provided with the product to ensure best results.
