2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT spied testing in Europe

– Based on the KTM 1390 Super Duke R

– Features new bodywork and subframe

– Likely to be launched towards the end of 2024

The introduction of the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R has prompted us to believe that similar to the other models based on the 1290 lineup, KTM must be working on more models based on the new 1390 engine platform. And now, the next-generation KTM 1390 Super Duke GT has been spotted testing in Europe.

Needless to say, the 1390 Super Duke GT will use the same 1350cc, V-twin engine from its naked sibling. The motor features a new variable valve timing and lift system, which is similar to BMW’s ShiftCam technology that allows the engine to rev higher and offer better performance. Compared to the 1,301cc engine on the 1290 Super Duke, the new motor produces a maximum output of 188bhp and a peak torque of 145.07Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Being a sports-touring version of the Super Duke R, the KTM 1390 Super Duke GT gets a revised subrame that should offer better luggage-carrying capability, and a comfortable pillion seat. Visually, it gets a completely different bodywork compared to the Super Duke R. It features a new headlamp cluster with a tall windscreen, large fuel tank with extended shrouds, and chunkier grab rails.

The new KTM 1390 Super Duke GT is expected to be launched in Europe towards the end of 2024 and is likely to be introduced as a 2025 model. In terms of competition, it will rival the Ducati Diavel V4.
