KTM 390 Adventure two variants spotted testing!

– Adventure and Enduro variants spotted

– Will feature the new 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine

– Could get more features than before

The KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted testing once again but this time there were two different test mules. One of them was the standard Adventure variant and the other was an Enduro version. The spy shots reveal a lot of design and hardware details of the upcoming 390 Adventure.

It is no secret that the Austrian ADV is undergoing a massive refresh in terms of design. The standard 390 Adventure will get a vertically stacked projector LED headlight setup with tube-shaped LED DRLs on the periphery. Then, it will also receive a transparent visor with a vent.

On the other hand, the 390 Adventure Enduro will get a different and smaller LED headlight setup. It is likely to come sans a visor. Both models were spotted with a tall beak instead of a conventional front fender. Even the front-side fairing is slightly altered to fit the design of the two versions. The Enduro test mule is equipped with a flat seat whereas the standard bike seems to get a single-piece scooped unit. The latter also has split grab-rails, whereas the Enduro doesn’t.

Both test mules are equipped with an engine crash guard, bash plate, and a saree guard. On closer inspection, we noticed that the 390 Adventure Enduro has block pattern tyres, while the standard one is shod with dual-purpose rubber. These tyres are wrapped around a 21-inch front and 18-inch spoke wheels.

Owing to their off-road purpose, the upcoming 390 Adventure range will ride on adjustable upside-down front forks and a new off-set monoshock. The braking hardware includes a single disc at both ends with ABS. You can expect features such as traction control, ride modes, ABS modes, and a fully digital TFT with smartphone connectivity. Powering the new 390 Adventure will be a 399cc, liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the 390 Duke. It makes 45.3bhp and 39Nm of peak torque. The motor will be paired with a six-speed gearbox and get a bi-directional quickshifter.

The asking price for the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure standard model will be around Rs. 3.5 lakh while the Enduro trim could cost about Rs. 3.8 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, the flagship KTM ADV bikes will be the most powerful and expensive models in the Austrian brand’s portfolio for India. These will rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Yezdi Adventure, and the BMW G 310 GS.
