Ather Energy is all set to expand its electric scooter portfolio with the introduction of the Ather Rizta on April 6, 2024 at the Ather community day program. The bookings for the new e-scooter have already begun at a token amount of Rs 999/- across the company authorized dealerships. Ather Rizta will challenge the TVS iQube in the Indian market. Let’s talk about the all-new electric scooter in detail.
Ather Rizta Design
Ather Energy has taken quite a lot of time in launching its first ‘family-oriented’ electric scooter but it appears to be a well calculated move. The teaser released by the brand shows that the new e-scooter could get LED lighting setup while riding on 12-inch alloy wheels. The underseat storage area too appears to be fairly larger than the conventional ones with Ather’s latest instagram post showing that it can house a half-face helmet, a bag, lunchbox and other basic stuff. The company has also provided a smaller storage box right in front of the main storage space, that too under the seat, to keep tiny things like a wallet and first-aid kit. In all, Ather has focused aggressively on maximizing the storage space.
Ather Rizta Features
The e-scooter is expected to get an “anti-skid feature” which, in all likelihood, will be some sort of ABS. It will miss out on the rear disc brake and instead boast of a drum unit as compared to the Ather 450X. The front disc brake will be offered as standard. The Rizta electric scooter will have a flat seat and seat board. It has been shod with MRF Zapper tyres. The teaser video has already confirmed the inclusion of a colored touchscreen TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, similar to the 450X.
Ather Rizta Battery, Range and Charge Time
The Rizta could feature a hub mounted motor in order to keep the pricing aggressive. The technical specifications are not in public domain yet but several unconfirmed reports claim that the battery and electric motor could be borrowed from the 450 range of electric scooters.
