Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the world premiere of an all-new SUV, christened as XUV 3XO (pronounced as XUV-three-ex-oh), on April 29 in India. Mahindra 3XO will be built at the brand’s production facility in Nashik, Maharashtra. The company has released a teaser image of the new SUV which indicates that it is going to be the facelifted version of the XUV300 which takes a radical departure in terms of overall styling as compared to its predecessor.
The new Mahindra 3XO takes design cues from the brand’s upcoming BE range of electric SUVs, which are being readied for a 2025 unveil. Some of the design highlights include angular nose, drop-down LED DRLs, refreshed headlamps and bumpers, newly-designed dual-slat front grille etc. to name a few. Even the rear profile is completely fresh with a new tail-gate which flaunts a full width LED bar. The LED tail-lamps are sleek and come in a C-shape while the number plate is positioned on the bumper instead of the tail. The company has not released an official image of the interior cabin but we expect substantial updates in the cabin with a host of new features.
According to Mahindra, the 3XO seamlessly integrates thrilling performance, cutting-edge technology, unmissable design, and unparalleled safety to cater to the aspirations of urban drivers. Mechanically, Mahindra X3O will use the existing engines: 1.2L turbocharged petrol, 1.2L direct injection turbocharged (TGDI) petrol and 1.5L diesel. All of these engines have been updated for the BS6 Phase II emission norms. There is a strong buzz that Mahindra might introduce an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.2L TGDI engine line-up.
