New 2024 Maruti Swift – 10,000 Bookings In 10 Days

Just a few days ago, Maruti Suzuki announced prices of the fourth-generation Swift hatchback for the Indian market. Priced between Rs 6.49 lakh – Rs 9.65 lakh, the model comes with the comprehensive cosmetic changes, feature upgrades, and an all-new Z-Series engine. Bookings for the new 2024 Maruti Swift were commenced from 1st May at a token sum of Rs 11,000. Within 10 days of opening of the booking window, the hatchback received 10,000 booking orders. The new Swift model lineup comes in five trims – LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi and ZXi+ – powered by a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol motor. Maruti Suzuki claims that its new engine offers a fuel efficiency of 24.8kmpl with the manual transmission and 25.72kmpl with the AMT gearbox. Compared to the old K12 petrol unit, the new Z-Series engine is nearly 3kmpl more fuel efficiency that makes the Swift India’s one of the most frugal hatchbacks. It returns a claimed power of 82bhp and 112Nm of torque, thus making it 8bhp less powerful and 1Nm less torquier than the old engine. The new Swift is also said to have up to 12 percent less carbon emissions.

Interior of the new 2024 Maruti Swift shares resemblance with the Fronx featuring a bigger, floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an updated analogue instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch digital MID, revised central air con vents, new HVAC switches and fabric seat upholstery. Features such as power adjustable and folding wing mirrors, LED fog lamps, push button start/stop, a rear camera, steering mounted controls, auto climate control, a wireless phone charger, cruise control and rear AC vents are reserved for the top-end ZXi+ trim.

The hatchback’s standard safety kit includes six airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and Isofix anchors.
