Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin Launching In 2024 – Name Trademarked

A new Royal Enfield 650cc roadster is one of the upcoming RE motorcycles, which has been spotted during its testing rounds multiple times. It’s essentially a more powerful, 650cc version of the highly popular RE Classic 350. Recently, the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker filed a trademark application for the ‘Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin,’ which is likely to be used for the Classic 350-based roadster.

The spy images reveal that the upcoming RE Classic 650 Twin will share the retro-styled round headlight with nacelle and teardrop-shaped fuel tank with the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. The bike will have a split seat and offer an upright riding stance. The mid-set footpegs and handlebar positioning appear similar to the Classic 350. However, it’s expected to come with sporty dual pea-shooter exhausts.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin will derive power from the 648cc, twin-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine delivering a peak power of 47.45PS and 52Nm of torque. The same powertrain setup is available on other RE 650cc bikes. There will be a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Its suspension setup is likely to include conventional telescopic front forks and twin shocks at the rear. Check Out: Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Leaked – Clearest Images, Details

In the company’s model lineup, the new RE Classic 650 Twin will sit between the Interceptor 650 and Shotgun 650. As of now, there is no official word on its launch timeline. However, the bike is likely to arrive around the 2024 festive season. Prices of the new Royal Enfield 650cc bike are likely to start around Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom).

In other updates, Royal Enfield recently confirmed that the launch of its first electric bike is still a year away. Siddhartha Lal, MD at Eicher Motors, said that currently, the demand for electric motorcycles isn’t there. However, the company has created a blueprint for the product strategy and its future plans. RE recently brought former Ola and Ducati personnel, Umesh Krishnappa and Mario Alvisi, respectively, onboard for its EV business plan.
