Tata Motors is likely to introduce a panoramic sunroof on its Nexon compact SUV days after its rival, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, got it as a segment-first feature.
- Nexon likely to get panoramic sunroof on higher variants
- No mechanical changes expected
- Nexon line-up recently rejigged with new entry variants
The Nexon currently gets a single-pane sunroof, prices for which start from Rs 9.80 lakh. The panoramic sunroof will likely be reserved for the higher trims only; lower variants will continue with a single-pane unit. The introduction of the panoramic sunroof is also expected to result in a slight increase in prices.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO gets a panoramic sunroof from the AX7 variant (priced from Rs 12.49 lakh onwards), and is the only compact SUV in India to currently get it. It will be interesting to see if the Nexon’s panoramic sunroof-equipped variants will undercut the XUV 3XO.
