Mercedes-Benz has rolled out the updated GLS 600 and AMG S 63 E Performance in the country. The GLS 600 is priced from Rs 3.35 crore onwards, while the AMG S 63 E Performance costs Rs 3.30 crore (all prices ex-showroom). The new Mercedes-Benz AMG S 63 E Performance, the most powerful version of the S-Class, features a 4.0L V8 plug-in hybrid setup. It comes equipped with a 13.1kWh battery pack and a 190bhp/320Nm electric motor fitted on the rear axle. Its combined power and torque outputs stand at 802bhp and 1430Nm, respectively.
The AMG S 63 E Performance is equipped with the 4Matic system and a 9-speed automatic gearbox with a ‘Race Start’ function. According to the automaker, the model can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.3 seconds. In all-electric mode, it offers a range of up to 33km and a maximum speed of 125kmph. The car features eight drive modes.
A major interior update is the new MBUX software, offering AMG and hybrid-specific displays and an exclusive ‘Super Sport’ theme. Other interior highlights include a new four-spoke AMG steering wheel and AMG-specific pedals. The list of features also includes a Burmester 3D surround sound system, four-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS suite, 64-color ambient lighting, and a 12.8-inch OLED touchscreen with a waterfall effect in the center of the dashboard. Mercedes-Benz also offers a range of optional features, such as an augmented reality HUD with 3D graphics, rear seat entertainment, and executive lounge seats.
The new Mercedes-Benz AMG S 63 E Performance receives a few cosmetic upgrades over the standard S-Class. Upfront, it features the Panamericana grille with the signature logo, a more prominent chin, and a sportier bumper with large air intakes. The rear profile sports an AMG-specific rear diffuser with quad exhaust pipes. The new AMG S 63 E Performance comes standard with 10-spoke, 20-inch alloy wheels, while 21-inch wheels are optional. Buyers can also opt for the Night Exterior and Carbon Fibre packages.
