Mercedes C 300 AMG Line: what’s new?

Powering the new C 300 is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 258hp and 400Nm of torque. The engine gets an integrated starter generator (ISG) that provides an additional output of 22hp and 205Nm, and an overboost function that provides 27hp of additional power for approximately 30 seconds. Mercedes claims the overboost function can be activated several times in succession until the defined temperature limits are reached.

The engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, and Mercedes claims a 0-100kph time of 6.0 seconds and a top-speed of 250kph. For reference, the outgoing 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel engine in the C300d produced 265hp and 550Nm of torque.

As before, the top-of-the-line C-Class comes dressed with the AMG Line package that brings sportier looking front and rear bumpers and a few AMG-specific touches on the inside. It also gets the ‘Night Package’ as standard that gives the cabin a blacked-out look. Mercedes is also offering the C 300 with Manufaktur colour options that includes Patagonia red bright and Sodalite Blue shades.

Some exclusive features on the C 300 include a Burmester 3D surround sound system, digital lights, augmented reality navigation, blind spot assist and keyless-go comfort package.
