Looking at Maruti Suzuki’s future plans, the Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to foray into the EV segment with a new mid-size SUV based on the eVX concept. The first electric offering from Maruti Suzuki is likely to arrive in early 2025. Production will take place at Suzuki Motor Gujarat’s Hansalpur-based plant, which also serves as the production hub for models like the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, and Fronx.
The Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV will underpin an all-new platform derived from Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture. It’s expected to come with a 60kWh battery pack and an electric motor, delivering a range of around 500km. The eVX will have an AWD drivetrain system. In terms of features, it will offer ADAS technology, a 360-degree camera, a two-spoke steering wheel, a dual-screen setup for infotainment and instrument functionalities, a rotary dial, and more.
