Your weekly dose of bike updates: Bajaj Chetak 2901, BMW R 1300 GS, and more!

We are back with our weekly roundup of the most noteworthy two-wheeler news updates. This week’s line-up comprises two scooter launches, Triumph introducing new shades for its modern-classic Bonneville twins, and the announcement about the new BMW R1300GS’ India launch date.

Bajaj Chetak 2901 launch

Bajaj Auto launched the most affordable Chetak yet. It is called the Chetak 2901 and is priced at Rs 95,998, ex-showroom. It sits below the Urbane and Premium variants of the Chetak. Bajaj claims that this e-scooter can cover 123km on a single charge as per ARAI certification. It can also be equipped with TecPac that enables features such as Hill Hold, Reverse mode, Sport and Economy modes, call and music control, Follow me home lights and Bluetooth App connectivity.

Hero Xoom Combat edition

Hero MotoCorp introduced a new variant of the Xoom in India called the Combat edition. It is essentially a new paint scheme that is inspired by fighter jets. The scooter gets a silver and black paint job with contrasting graphics on all the body panels. The Xoom Combat Edition is priced at Rs 80.967 which makes it Rs 1,000 dearer than the Xoom ZX variant, which was previously the top-spec variant.

BMW R 1300 GS launch date

The BMW R 1300 GS is all set to launch in India on 13 June. BMW seems to have chosen the date to go with the ‘1300’ moniker in the name of what is undoubtedly one of the biggest launches of the year. Official bookings are open and prices of the motorcycle are expected to begin from Rs 22 lakh to Rs 23 lakh, ex-showroom. The bike goes up against the Ducati Multistrada V4, Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 and the Triumph Tiger 1200.

2025 Triumph Bonneville T100, T120 colours

Triumph Motorcycles launched the 2025 Bonneville T120 and T100 in India in new colours. While the former is available in a new dual-tone a Crystal White with Cranberry Red colour option, the latter is now adorned with an Aluminium /Baja Orange shade. Prices for the 2025 T120 and T100 stand at Rs. 11.39 lakh and Rs. 9.99 lakh, respectively, and they remain unchanged on the mechanical front.

KTM Adventure with AMT gearbox

KTM teased a new prototype of its Adventure range. It seems to be the Super Adventure and is equipped with a new feature – an automatic gearbox. Going by the overall bodywork, it appears that this bike will be based on the KTM’s new 1390 platform. The teaser video shows the bike being ridden on a thorough off-road track. It has a shift lever on the left side but there is no clutch. We expect the Austrian bikemaker to post more teasers soon and reveal some more details before its official debut.
