Nissan Magnite, X Trail, India, teaser, features

Nissan India has released a second round of teasers for its upcoming X-Trail SUV, confirming a number of features that will be available on the model. As we had reported earlier, the fourth-gen Nissan X-Trail, which has been on sale in international markets since 2021, will be brought to India via the CBU route. The introduction of the X-Trail will see Nissan India’s portfolio double, as it only has the Magnite compact SUV on sale currently.

New Nissan X-Trail: mechanical highlights

We have been reporting that the X-Trail for India will be powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit and come paired with a CVT gearbox. The new teaser confirms the presence of an automatic gearbox, while also confirming features such as drive modes, an electronic parking brake with an auto hold function and cruise control via the buttons mounted on the unique three-spoke steering that seems to be finished in a leatherette material.

On the inside, the X-Trail for India will offer seating for up to seven passengers with a bench seat in the second row and two more seats in the third row. Passengers will be able to enjoy the dual-pane sunroof, dual-zone climate control and a large infotainment touchscreen (flanked by physical toggles for some functions). In addition, the teaser shows it’ll have a wireless smartphone charger, a digital instrument cluster, keyless entry and push button start.

More details about the new Nissan X-Trail for India will trickle out as the launch approaches. We expect the X-Trail to be priced in the Rs 30 lakh-35 lakh (ex-showroom) region, which means it’ll take on the likes of the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster and even the Hyundai Tucson.
