Maruti Suzuki has commenced bookings for the all-new Dzire for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Interested buyers can book the new-gen Maruti Dzire at their nearest Arena dealership, or it can also be made online. Maruti Suzuki will reveal the new sedan fully tomorrow, November 5, ahead of its price announcement on November 11.
- Dzire will get new 82hp, Z Series engine
- Differentiated design from Swift that it’s based on
- Launch slated for November 11
New Maruti Dzire exterior, interior, features
We got a complete look at the new Dzire last week, thanks to leaked images online, and the first takeaway is that it appears far removed from the Swift hatchback that it’s based on. It is also completely different from the outgoing generation of the sedan, sporting a much sharper and sportier design language.
The new Dzire gets a larger, hexagonal grille at the front, flanked by sharp-looking rectangular LED headlamps. It also gets a redesigned fog lamp housing and a gloss black trim connecting the headlamps. The rear end features Y-shaped LED elements in the tail-lamps, with a chrome strip running across the tailgate connecting the two. The higher models will get diamond-cut alloy wheels with a petal-like design.
We’ve only got partial glimpses of the interior so far, but we can confirm it will share most of its equipment, including the 9-inch free-standing touchscreen and a new steering wheel with the Swift. It will, however, use different colours for the dashboard and upholstery. What will be of particular interest to buyers is that spy shots have even hinted at a segment-first electric sunroof.
New Maruti Dzire powertrain, specs
The new Dzire will be offered with the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine as the Swift that makes 82hp and 112Nm. It will also get a petrol-CNG option. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard, while the petrol variants will get an automatic gearbox option.
The new Dzire will continue to rival the likes of the Honda Amaze (which, too, is due an all-new generation), Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor.
