New Ducati Panigale V2 unveiled at EICMA 2024

-Styling inspired by the new Ducati Panigale V4

-Powered by the new 890cc, V2 engine

-Available in standard and S variants

The new Ducati Panigale V2 has been unveiled at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. This supersport motorcycle features fresh styling, a new V2 engine, and much more. The bike is available in two variants- Standard and S.

Starting with the design of the Panigale V2 is fresh, purposeful and sharper than its predecessor. While the new Ducati Panigale V4 superbike inspires it, the Panigale V2 features its own set of creases, slashes and ducts on the fairing. Ducati has emphaised on passive cooling to ensure the rider can bear the heat from the engine a lot better while riding at slow speeds in the city.

What also grabs attention is the twin LED headlights that are narrower and more angry-looking than those on the outgoing Panigale V2. Even the tail section is designed beautifully while the LED tail light is reminiscent of the Panigale 1199 R.

The Panigale V2 is powered by an 890cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine that makes 120bhp at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. While the peak power is much lower than the outgoing Panigale V2’s engine, the new Panigale is significantly lighter than the old bike. The ‘S’ variant is 17kg lighter and Ducati says the new Panigale V2 is as quick as the old bike around test tracks. What’s also interesting are the new twin, underseat exhaust pipes that not only look great but are also said to offer a distinct sound.

As is expected from a Ducati, there is a long list of electronics on the bike. There are multiple ride modes, traction control levels, wheelie control, engine brake control and a bi-directional. The bike also gets a new TFT display with three display modes- Road, Road Pro and Race.

Under the beautiful bodywork, there is an aluminium monocoque frame. The standard bike comes with a 43mm Marzocchi USD fork and a Kayaba monoshock, and both are fully adjustable. The Panigale V2 S gets Ohlins suspension at the front and rear. Both variants ride on 17-inch wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.

Braking duties are taken care of twin 320mm discs w. 5-inch ith Brembo M50 Monobloc calipers while at the rear, there is a 245mm disc with a 2-piston caliper. The Panigale V2 S weighs 176kg while the standard bike tips the scales at 179kg. This makes it significantly lighter than its predecessor which weighed close to the 200kg mark.

The new Ducati Panigale V2 is expected to go on sale in India in 2025 and is likely to be priced between around Rs 19 lakh to Rs 21 lakh, ex-showroom.
