Honda QC1 – Top five highlights

Honda recently unveiled the QC 1 electric scooter to India as its most affordable and entry-level offering. The QC1 sits below the Activa e: here are five highlights.

Simple Design

Honda has kept the QC1’s design fairly simple. It gets minimal cuts and creases and appears family-oriented, which would be preferred by a mature buyer. The QC1 gets a slim build with all LED illumination, a cubby holder, and a flat floorboard. Honda is offering the QC1 in five colours: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pear Serenity Blue, pearl misty white, Pearl Nightstar Black, and matte foggy Silver Metallic.

Motor and Battery

Powering the Honda QC1 is a 1.5kWh fixed battery pack that offers an 80km range and a top speed of 50kmph. The QC1 can be fully charged in four hours and 30 minutes.

Features

Along with the LED illumination, the QC1’s features list is quite simple. It has a five-inch LCD, two Econ and standard ride modes, a USB type-C charging port, and 26-litres of underseat storage.

Hardware

The Honda QC1 rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. It features a drum brake at both ends unlike its sibling Activa e: which uses a front disc and rear drum. The QC1’s brakes are mounted on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels.

Rivals

The Honda QC1, once launched, will rival the Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak, and the Ather 450S.
