Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Speed 1200 RS in India. The bike is offered in two trims: standard and RS. This story details the Speed Twin 1200 RS.
On the design front, the Speed Twin 1200 RS is a thoroughbred retro roadster. Its old-school design includes a round LED headlight, a tubular handlebar with bar-end mirrors, a walnut-shaped fuel tank, and a brush stainless steel twin-pipe exhaust setup. Triumph offers the Speed Twin 1200RS in two paint schemes: Baja Orange and Sapphire Black.
Powering the Triumph Speed 1200 RS is a 1200cc parallel-twin motor that makes 103.5bhp and 112Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a bi-directional quickshifter. The bike also gets rider aids including cornering ABS, traction control, and ride modes (road, rain, and sport). You can also opt for accessory bits like cruise control, heated grips, TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), and more.
On the hardware front, the Speed Twin 1200 RS gets a cradle frame suspended on 43mm Marzocchi front forks with preload, compression, and rebound adjustment. The rear end uses twin Ohlins RSUs with external reservoirs, and it too gets preload, compression, and rebound adjustment. Its braking duties are done by dual 320mm front and a 220mm single rear disc mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in a 120/70 front and a 160/60 rear tyre.
The Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS’s asking price is Rs. 15,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
