Aprilia Tuono 457 spied testing ahead of India launch
  • India launch on 17 or 18 February
  • Based on the Aprilia RS 457
  • Likely to be priced under Rs. 4 lakh

After its official debut at EICMA 2024, the Aprilia Tuono 457 has been spied testing in India for the first time. Considering the Yamaha MT-03’s exorbitant pricing, the Tuono could make for an accessible twin-cylinder naked bike in the sub-500cc segment.

Unlike the other Tuono bikes, which share many design elements with their RS counterparts, the Tuono 457 features distinctive styling compared to the RS 457. It ditches the fairing for a bikini headlamp with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and large tank extensions.

The Tuono 457 will be powered by a 457cc parallel-twin engine that develops 46.9bhp at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm of peak torque at 6,700rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and benefits from an assist and slipper clutch. In our experience with the Aprilia RS 457, the engine impressed us with its refinement, tractability, and punchy power delivery.

The Tuono 457 will be positioned below the RS 457 and could be priced under Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom). If that happens, it could be a good alternative to the KTM 390 Duke, as it will offer premium brand appeal and a multi-cylinder motor for the additional price.

The Aprilia Tuono 457 will be launched in India on 17 or 18 February 2025.
