- The 9.1kWh trim offers a claimed range of 501km
- The top speed stands at 125kmph
Ola Electric has launched the new Roadster X Plus electric motorcycle in India. It comes in two variants with varying battery sizes including 4.5kWh and 9.1kWh that are priced at Rs. 1.05 lakh and Rs. 1.55 lakh, respectively. Both these prices are ex-showroom and are introductory. While the deliveries of the lower-spec variant will start from next month, the dispatches of the 9.1kWh trim will commence from next quarter onwards.
One of the main highlights of the Roadster X Plus is the claimed riding range from its 9.1kWh variant which stands at a staggering 501km. The 4.5kWh variant, meanwhile, delivers a range of 252km (claimed). The batteries come with a three-year warranty as standard and it can be extended to 5 years or 8 years by paying extra. As for the performance, with a mid-drive motor producing 11kW peak power, the top speed of 125kmph is the same for both variants. It is based on Ola’s new Gen 3 platform. It houses flat cables for the internal circuitry which is claimed to boast a host of benefits over round cables.
Despite being Ola’s entry-level motorcycle, the Roadster X comes equipped with loads of features including a 4.3-inch LCD dash with connectivity, three ride modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), regenerative braking, cruise control, reverse mode, tyre pressure alerts, geo and time fencing, and tow and theft fencing. The display will also get timely OTA updates. The cycle parts are quite simple with 17-inch alloy wheels suspended by telescopic forks and dual springs while stopping comes from a single disc up front and a drum at the rear. There’s a single-channel ABS and brake-by-wire system as well.
