KTM 390 Adventure X launch – Top five highlights

KTM India has finally launched its updated range of the 390 Adventure motorcycle. The bike is currently being offered in two variants: X and standard. In this story, we discuss five things you must know if you plan to purchase the X.

Shared Design

Although more affordable, the KTM 390 Adventure X shares its design with the standard model. You get the same rugged and tall stance with a vertically stacked LED headlight flanked by tubular LED DRLs, transparent visor, tall-set fender, flat seat, minimal bodywork, and an underbelly exhaust. You can purchase the 390 Adventure X in two colour options: orange with black or white with orange and black.

Fewer Features

Apart from LED illumination, the new Austrian ADV includes other rider aids. However, since the X is an entry-level model, it has fewer features than the standard bike. For reference, it packs off-road ABS, TFT, quickshifter, and smartphone connectivity. On the other hand, its sibling boasts ride modes, traction control, and more.

Same Engine

The 390 Adventure X has the same design and engine, a 399cc, liquid-cooled motor that produces 45.3bhp and 39Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox.

Different Hardware

Given the 390 Adventure X’s road-biased and touring approach, the bike rides on WP USD front forks and a 10-step adjustable monoshock. Its braking hardware comprises a single disc at both ends, mounted on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped in block pattern tyres.

Most Affordable Model

KTM has priced the 390 Adventure X at Rs. 2,91,140 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It locks horns with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, BMW G 310 GS, and the upcoming TVS Apache RTX 300.
