The all-new KTM 390 Adventure has finally gone on sale in India. The adventure motorcycle is available in two variants and we are highlighting the top-spec variant that gets all the bells and whistles.
Feature packed
KTM has equipped the 390 Adventure with every feature imaginable at this price point and more. The bike gets all-LED lights, traction control, ABS, ride modes, bi-directional quickshifter and a colour TFT with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The icing on top is the cruise control feature.
The hardware
The bike employs a steel trellis frame that is suspended by an adjustable USD fork with 200mm travel. At the rear, there is a 10-step, preload adjustable and 20-step rebound adjustable monoshock with 205mm travel. Braking is taken care of by a single 320mm disc with a radially mounted caliper and a 240mm disc with a floating caliper at the rear. The best part is that the 390 Adventure has a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear, tubeless, wire-spoke wheel setup.
Powerhouse
The KTM 390 Adventure is powered by a 398.6cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 45.3bhp and 39Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox that benefits from a slip and assist clutch.
KTM design
One of the big talking points about the bike is the quintessential KTM design. From the Dakar Rally bike inspired fairing to the functionally designed fuel tank and the flat tail, the 390 Adventure looks distinct and carves an identity for itself in a crowded two-wheeler market.
Price and competition
The new KTM 390 Adventure is priced at Rs 3.68 lakh and this makes it great value considering the amount of equipment that the bike gets. In terms of competition, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is what comes closest to the Austrian bike.
