Hero’s latest entrant in the Indian scooter space is the Xoom 125 and we have already ridden it briefly. While our first impressions about the scooter can be read in the first ride review, here’s a quick summary of it along with the pictures of the Xoom 125.
The area in which the Xoom truly stands out is design. It looks imposing, sporty and athletic with angular cuts and creases all over its bodywork. The presence of large 14-inch wheels further elevate its visual appeal.
Another benefit of the inclusion of 14-inch wheels is impressive composure and stability while changing directions. It inspires more confidence around corners than most other scooters with smaller 12-inch wheels.
Powering the scooter is a 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 9.8bhp at 7,250rpm and 10.4Nm at 6,000rpm, paired with a CVT.
The Xoom 125 feels quite eager till about 60-80kmph of speed with brisk acceleration and good refinement. It can attain a top speed of close 98kmph which is acceptable from a 125cc scooter.
While the ride quality inclines more towards the firmer side, it still does a good job of ironing out most undulations, especially if you take them on at speed. It’s tuned to be more sporty than comfortable.
The list of features includes sequential turn indicators, front disc brake, front storage with USB charger, boot lamp, and turn-by-turn navigation. What it misses out on is a parking brake lock and silent start system.
The new Hero Xoom 125 comes in two variants including VX and ZX which cost Rs. 86,900 and Rs. 92,900, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom).
