Hero MotoCorp to launch electrical scooter by March 2022 | Autocar India

The corporate says that the undertaking is in its superior levels, and that the scooter can be manufactured in Andhra Pradesh.

Again in August this 12 months, as a part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Hero MotoCorp nearly confirmed off a prototype of its upcoming electrical scooter. The corporate has now said that it’s going to launch its maiden e-scooter by March 2022.

From the transient glimpse that we obtained in August, Hero’s e-scooter doesn’t appear to share a lot with e-scooters from Gogoro, with whom the corporate has partnered for battery-swapping EVs in India. It sports activities a reasonably typical scooter silhouette, a seemingly mid-mounted motor, and a single-sided rear suspension.

Hero says that the brand new e-scooter can be manufactured at its plant in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh that’s aptly referred to as the ‘Backyard Manufacturing unit’. That is the youngest of Hero’s crops in the mean time, having commenced operations in March 2020.
