Honda and HPCL plan to start out Battery as a Service (BaaS) enterprise on a business foundation in Bengaluru from the primary half of 2022.

Honda’s new subsidiary for battery sharing service, Honda Energy Pack Power India, and Hindustan Petroleum Company Restricted are collaborating to arrange EV battery swapping stations throughout India. The Japanese firm says this marks the worldwide debut of its battery sharing service. 

This comes three months after Honda introduced it was coming into the battery swapping enterprise within the nation. Honda isn’t the one producer to have tied up with a petroleum main to construct EV charging infrastructure. Not too long ago,Hero MotoCorp and BPCL have partnered to develop an EV charging community as effectively.

Honda and HPCL say they plan to start out Battery as a Service (BaaS) enterprise on a business foundation in Bengaluru from the primary half of 2022. Honda plans to arrange a large community of battery swap stations at strategic HPCL shops. It’ll allow prospects to shortly trade a depleted battery pack, referred to as the Honda Cellular Energy Pack e , with a totally charged one in a matter of minutes. 

Initially, the main focus will likely be on the three-wheeler phase and would finally develop to two-wheelers as effectively. For this objective, Honda has been creating its ties with a number of OEMs in numerous functions.
