Attractive deals on Ciaz diesel, Honda City, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
Buyers looking for a mid-size sedan will be happy to know there are some hot deals to be had on certain models. So bring out the calculators and see how much money you could save on your next sedan.
Maruti Ciaz (diesel)
As you may know, the Maruti Ciaz is now available exclusively through the upmarket Nexa network. While buyers can expect a premium buying experience, there’s also scope to save big bucks on the diesel version of the car. Dealers are offering discount in the range of Rs 30,000 with an additional ‘corporate’ discount of Rs 10,000 available to eligible buyers. Trade in your existing Maruti and you’ll get a further Rs 50,000 loyalty bonus, taking the total possible saving to around Rs 1 lakh off the list price.
The Maruti Ciaz diesel is available in four trims, with prices starting at Rs 9.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Sigma trim and topping off at Rs 11.44 lakh for the fully-loaded Alpha trim.
Popular as it is, the Honda City is also one of the pricier mid-size sedans on sale in India. It helps that there are currently a few discounts on offer across the City range. Discounts range from Rs 10,000 to a maximum of Rs 36,000.
The Honda City is available in three versions. The petrol-manual City (119hp, 1.5-litre petrol, five-speed gearbox) is offered in four variants, with prices ranging from Rs 8.58-11.70 lakh. The petrol-automatic City (119hp, 1.5-litre petrol, CVT) comes in three variants, with prices starting at Rs 11.59 lakh and topping off at Rs 13.56 lakh. The diesel-manual City (100hp, 1.5-litre diesel, six-speed gearbox) can be had in four trims, with prices ranging from Rs 10.83-13.63 lakh.
Skoda dealers are pushing the Rapid sedan with some sizeable discounts. The Rapid, which is available in petrol (105hp, 1.6-litre, with five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission) and diesel (110hp, 1.5-litre, with five-speed manual or seven-speed automatic) form, is being offered with savings of around Rs 1.5 lakh.
Base Active trim cars (only available on the manuals) are being offered with Rs 1.25 lakh off, mid-spec Ambition trim Rapids are being offered with Rs 1.42 lakh off and top-spec Style trim Rapids are available with Rs 1.39 lakh off the list price. Add to the above an additional Rs 20,000 corporate discount and you can save huge money on Skoda’s well-rounded mid-size sedan.
Prices for the Skoda Rapid petrol-manual range from Rs 8.48-10.82 lakh, the petrol-automatic Rapid costs Rs 10.76- 12.09 lakh, the Rapid diesel-manual comes in at Rs 9.71- 12.34 lakh, and the diesel-automatic versions is listed at Rs 11.87-13.47 lakh.
Volkswagen’s competent Vento is also available with a substantial chunk off its listed price. Dealers are offering around Rs 90,000 off, with an additional Rs 10,000 discount. You can also save up to Rs 10,000 on insurance, taking the total possible savings to Rs 1.1 lakh.
The Vento is available in four versions. The Vento petrol-manual (105hp, 1.6-litre, five-speed gearbox) costs Rs 8.19-11.14 lakh, the petrol-automatic (105hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, seven-speed auto ‘box) costs Rs 10.53-12.49 lakh, the diesel-manual (110hp, 1.5-litre, five-speed gearbox) is listed at Rs 9.59-12.62 lakh, and the diesel-automatic (110hp, 1.5-litre, seven-speed auto ‘box) costs Rs 11.91-13.87 lakh.
