Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to roll out at least two all-new SUVs in the next six months in the Indian market. The company recently announced that it will launch an all-new SUV in the form of the XUV 3XO on April 29, 2024. The launch of the Mahindra Thar 5-door, dubbed as Thar Armada by some sections of the media, is expected on August 15, 2024. So, let’s talk about these two upcoming Mahindra SUVs in detail in this article.
Upcoming Mahindra SUVs
Mahindra XUV 3XO
Being the heavily facelifted version of the XUV300, Mahindra XUV 3XO will have its global premiere on April 29, 2024. The company recently released a 30 sec long teaser of the new SUV which showcased several new design elements. The brand has not released any official image of the interior of the SUV yet, but we expect it to carry a host of premium and advanced features, including a first-in-segment dual-pane panoramic sunroof. The engine specs will largely be carried over from the XUV300 including the 1.2L TGDI petrol engine. However, the company might introduce an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission as optional apart from the standard manual gearbox. The prices could start from 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mahindra Thar Armada
Mahindra Thar 5-door version has been spotted testing several times and speculation is rife that it could break cover on August 15, 2024. Several media reports have claimed that it could be termed as Thar Armada but the brand has not officially endorsed this name yet. Some of the salient features in the Thar Armada would include an all-digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The existing 2.0L petrol and 2.2L diesel engines will be carried over from the standard version of the Thar with a choice of manual as well as automatic transmission. Expect a starting price of Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) for the SUV.
