The Japanese automaker has introduced a new mid-level variant of the Rumion compact MPV, called the Toyota Rumion G AT, with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This new variant is priced at Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom), which is nearly Rs 1.40 lakh more than its manual counterpart, the G trim with a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, it is around Rs 73,000 cheaper than the top-end V AT variant. Interested buyers can book the new variant with a token amount of Rs 11,000. Additionally, the carmaker has reopened bookings for the e-CNG variant of the MPV.
The new Toyota Rumion G AT comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, height-adjustable driver’s and front seatbelts, Toyota connected car tech, dual-tone fabric upholstery, teak wood finish on the dashboard and front door trims, a central sliding armrest with storage, an engine push start/stop button, climate control, front fog lamps, chrome door handles, dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear washer, wiper, defogger, and many more features.
For safety, the standard kit includes dual front airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, Isofix child seat mounts, seat belt reminders, and rear parking sensors. The G AT variant retains similar features to its manual counterpart.
The Toyota Rumion derives power form a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. The CNG kit-equipped version delivers 88 bhp and 121.5 Nm of torque, which is available only with the entry-level G trim. The MPV model lineup offers two gearbox options: a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Toyota Rumion lineup has prices ranging from Rs 10.44 lakh to Rs 13.73 lakh (all, ex-showroom). In this price range, it competes directly with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Kia Carens.
