Volvo XC40 Recharge single motor features
The Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 single motor variant has been dubbed ‘Plus’. Compared to the range-topping Ultimate trim, it misses out on a few features such as Pixel LED headlights, fog lamps, 360-degree camera, side parking sensors, power child safety lock, air-ventilated subwoofer and the Harman Kardon premium sound system.
That said, it’s still fairly well equipped with features like an eight-speaker sound system, two-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital driver's display, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 19-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless phone charging and so on. Its safety suite consists of seven airbags, TPMS, park assist and ADAS features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alerts and rear collision warning.
Volvo XC40 Recharge single motor powertrain, battery and range
The Volvo XC40 Recharge Plus variant gets a single rear-mounted electric motor that produces 238hp and 420Nm, which helps it sprints from 0-100kph in 7.3 seconds and top out at an electronically limited 180kph. The single motor variant gets a 69kWh lithium-ion battery pack that has a WLTP-certified range of 475km.
Volvo XC40 Recharge single motor rivals
The Volvo XC40 Recharge single motor goes up against other similarly priced RWD electric cars like the recently launched BYD Seal Dynamic (Rs 41 lakh) and Premium (Rs 45.55 lakh), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Rs 45.95 lakh) and the Kia EV6 GT Line (Rs 60.95 lakh). The Volvo XC40 SUV is only offered in the EV guise, with the petrol-powered version discontinued in November last year.
