Honda Cars India has introduced some new safety features for its entire range in the country, including City, City e:HEV (Hybrid), Elevate, and Amaze. As a part of the update, the City and Elevate are now equipped with six airbags, 3-point emergency locking retractor (ELR) seat belts and seat belt reminder for all 5 seats as standard across all trims.

Other new features on offer as standard with the Elevate include adjustable head restraints for all 5 passengers, driver & co-driver vanity mirror, and a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display. The City adds a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster on the base SV variant, while the VX trim now comes with an 8-speaker premium sound system and a rear sunshade.
The inclusion of new features has also resulted in a price hike for the two Honda cars. The Elevate was previously priced from Rs 11.69-16.31 lakh, but now costs Rs 11.91-16.43 lakh. The City’s previous base price of Rs 11.82 lakh has now risen to Rs 12.08 lakh, while the top-end variant has become Rs 5,000 more expensive, and is now priced at Rs 16.35 lakh.
Amaze, City e:HEV also updated
The Honda Amaze and City e:HEV have also been equipped with seat belt reminders for all 5 seats as standard. The Amaze’s entry-level E variant has been discontinued, and the sub-4-metre sedan is now priced from Rs 7.93-9.86 lakh. The City e:HEV is now available in a single range-topping ZX variant, which is priced at Rs 20.55 lakh.
No mechanical changes have been made to either of the four cars. The Honda City and Elevate continue to be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 121hp and 145Nm, while the City Hybrid makes use of a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine producing a combined 126hp. The Amaze is equipped with a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine rated at 90hp/110Nm.
