– Three battery warranty packs launched
– UV Care Max offers 8 lakh km
– 8 years warranty launched
Ultraviolette has launched a range of new battery warranties for its flagship electric motorcycle – the F77. Under this warranty program, the prospective buyer of the motorcycle has various options to extend the warranty of the battery.
The Bengaluru-based startup has launched three warranty packs – UV Care, UV Care+ and UV Care Max. The former two packs have a revised km limit of 60,000 km and 1 lakh km. The previous distance limits stood at 30,000kms and 50,000kms respectively. For the UV Care Max, the new distance limit is a whopping 8 lakh km or eight years, which is eight times more than the previous warranty figure. It is still not clear whether this new warranty program can also be purchased by the current F77 customers. Interestingly, Ultraviolette hasn’t shared the pricing of these warranty packs.
The company claims that even after the F77 has covered over a lakh kilometers, the battery retained over 95 per cent of the original rated capacity. With such a dependable battery pack, it is clear that Indian customers don’t really have to think about upgrading to a better EV due to battery degradation. In fact, at the recent launch of the Ather Rizta, the top honcho of the company claimed that even after five years, their e-scooters have retained 90 per cent of the original rated capacity of the battery. With such progress in the world of battery technology, it is clear that EV adoption is likely to increase in the next few years.
