Mahindra has bene dripfeeding details about the upcoming XUV300 facelift (XUV 3XO) and latest set of teasers have revelaed the new dashboard confirming a major design overhaul for the SUV's interior.
- XUV 3XO to borrow XUV400's dashboard
- To get dual 10.25-inch digital displays
- Fuel efficiency, performance also revealed in new teaser
Mahindra XUV 3XO: interior highlights, features
The XUV 3XO gets a completely new dashboard that is inspired by the XUV400 EV SUV. A larger 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit takes the centre stage, with the middle AC vents now placed below it horizontally as opposed to the vertical units seen before. The dated HVAC controls on the XUV300 have been replaced by more modern-looking switchgear.
The steering wheel is also updated, however, it is different from the one seen on the XUV400. Right in front of the touchscreen is the new 10.25-inch fully-digital TFT instrument cluster with crisp animations. Moreover, Mahindra has gotten rid of the silver embellishment that surrounded the infotainment screen and AC vents, in favour of glossy black elements. A similar treatment is found on the steering wheel as well. The cabin of the XUV 3XO will continue to feature a dual-tone black and beige theme.
New feature additions on the compact SUV will include a first-in-class panoramic sunroof, as well as Adrenox connected-tech for remote functions like AC controls, door unlock/lock, and diagnostic tools.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: performance, fuel, efficiency
Apart from the dashboard design, the latest teaser has revealed that the new XUV 3XO will be able to dash from 0-60kph in 4.5 seconds, which is quicker than what we managed with the Hyundai Venue DCT and Kia Sonet DCT in our road test. It has also been revealed that the XUV 3XO will offer multiple drive modes including Zip, Zap – similar to the XUV700.
Mahindra has also confirmed that the updated SUV will boast an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 20.1kpl, however, the figure will likely be for the diesel powertrain, not the turbo-petrol engines. The XUV 3XO will retain its three engine options – the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol; the 131hp, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol; and the 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel. However, an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will be a new addition for the 130hp turbo-petrol engine.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: launch, price, rivals
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is all set to make its global debut on April 29, and is expected to be priced higher than the outgoing XUV300 considering all the changes. It will continue to rival Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza among other compact SUVs.
