The Mahindra BE.05 is one of the upcoming born-electric SUVs from the indigenous automaker, based on the brand’s new INGLO platform. The model is currently in its testing phase, with the final version slated to go on sale by October 2025. It will be positioned as a direct rival to the Tata Curvv EV, which is due for a market release during the 2024 festive season. The latest buzz around this upcoming electric SUV is a real-world interior image that appears to be in its production-ready form.
The image reveals that the new Mahindra electric SUV will feature an all-black interior theme with a newly-designed, 2-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel featuring an illuminated BE logo and a dual screen setup. The center console includes an aircraft-like throttle gear lever, while the center spine features AC vents for the driver.
Talking about its exterior, the Mahindra BE.05 will feature C-shaped LED DRLs, a coupe-like roofline, squarish wheel arches, and slim LED taillamps. Similar to its concept version, the production-ready BE.05 is likely to measure 4370mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1635mm in height. The EV will sit on a 2775mm long wheelbase. Compared to the XUV700, the BE.05 will be nearly 45mm longer, 10mm wider, and 5mm taller, with a 7mm longer wheelbase.
Specifications of the new Mahindra electric SUV are still under wraps. However, it is known that Mahindra’s upcoming born-electric SUVs will come with both single and dual-motor setups. The power outputs will be around 228-282bhp for the single-motor models and 335-389bhp for the dual-motor models. These SUVs are claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5 to 6 seconds. Battery pack capacity will range between 60-80kWh, with the ability to charge up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes via a 175kW fast charger. Mahindra has stated that the 80kWh battery will deliver a driving range of around 435km to 450km under the WLTP cycle.
