MG Motor India has released a new teaser video of the upcoming Gloster 7-seater SUV with a caption that reads, “Time is ticking, and a storm is waiting.” This suggests that the automaker might introduce a new MG Gloster Desert special edition in the coming days. Speculations also suggest that it could be the new 2024 MG Gloster facelift, which has been caught testing multiple times. The SUV’s updated version is expected to come with a completely new front fascia featuring a large hexagonal grille with red highlights and headlamps with a new split pattern.
The side profile of the Gloster facelift will remain largely unchanged, though it’s likely to get newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels, more pronounced wheel arches, and more rugged cladding. The new LED taillamps connected via a light bar and revised rear bumper will further differentiate it from the existing model.

Minimal changes will be made to its interior, including a slightly revised dashboard with an integrated larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new centre console with revised switchgear, and redesigned AC vents.
If the upcoming model is the MG Gloster Desert Edition, it’s likely to get design elements similar to the Gloster Blackstorm edition. The special edition might come with a new interior theme and ‘Desert Edition’ badging on the dashboard and seat headrests. A few cosmetic enhancements will also be made. The MG Gloster Desert Edition is likely to be offered in a new colour scheme.
Whether it’s the new 2024 MG Gloster facelift or a new special edition, both will use the 2.0L diesel and 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engines. While the former makes 161bhp with 375Nm, the latter returns a claimed power of 215bhp and 480Nm of torque.
MG’s Gloster three-row SUV currently competes with SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq. The facelift model might witness a minor price hike.
