The Jeep Meridian X special edition is now on sale in India, priced at Rs 34.27 lakh, which is nearly Rs 50,000 more expensive than the regular entry-level Limited (O) variant. It features a few cosmetic enhancements and feature upgrades over the regular model. On the exterior, the new Meridian X features a grey roof and alloy wheels with grey accents. Inside, it comes with an air purifier, programmable ambient lighting, side moulding, sunshades, puddle lamps, a dashcam, premium carpet mats, and an optional rear seat entertainment package.
Similar to the regular model, the new Jeep Meridian X special edition derives power from a 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel engine that pushes out a peak power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. The SUV is equipped with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The limited edition is being offered in seven paint schemes: Pearl White, Galaxy Blue, Techno Metallic Green, Brilliant Black, Silvery Moon, Magnesio Grey, and Velvet Red.
In recent news, Jeep India will introduce the Meridian SUV with minor design changes, including a revised front grille and bumper, newly-designed fog lamps with new silver accents, and a new ADAS radar module fitted in the central air intake. The carmaker might also add some new features, though no changes are expected to be made to its engine.
Additionally, the American SUV maker plans to give a generational change to the Jeep Compass SUV in 2026. Codenamed J4U, the all-new model will come with an electric powertrain and underpin Stellantis’ STLA M platform. This architecture is compatible with multiple powertrains, and capable to accommodate battery packs of up to 98kWh and support both FWD (front-wheel drive) and 4WD (four-wheel drive) systems. According to Stellantis, the STLA M platform with the Standard Pack and Performance Pack delivers ranges of over 500km and over 700km, respectively.
