MotoGP 2024: Ducati’s Pecco Bagnaia wins the Thailand GP

-Jorge Martin finished second

-Marc Marquez crashes out of the race

-Pedro Acosta finishes third

The 2024 MotoGP World Championship title fight is going down to the wire as Ducati Lenovo Factory Team’s Pecco Bagnaia clinched a crucial victory at a wet Thailand Grand Prix.

As the lights went out, Pecco Baganaia started from the Pole position but lost the lead immediately as the rear wheel spun off the wet grid. Jorge Martin capitalised on this and snatched the lead. Pecco slotted into second and began hunting Martin down. A few corners later, Martin ran wide and Pecco was in the lead of the GP again. The two title rivals were racing side by side in the tricky conditions and that’s the kind of showdown that the spectators wanted.

Martin again ran wide and that was enough for Marc Marquez to jump into P2. Marquez then piled the pressure on Pecco who was keeping his calm despite repeated overtaking attempts by Marquez. A few laps later, Marquez lost the front and went down, promoting Martin to second.

Rookie reloaded

GasGas Tech 3 Racing’s Pedro Acosta rose to the third position after an intense battle with KTM Factory Racing’s Jack Miller. The duo kept swapping positions as one tried to outbrake the other on the wet track. Ultimately, Pedro sealed P3, much to the delight of the fans and his team.

Pecco vs Martin

Only 17 points separate Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin. With two rounds to go, it is going to be a close championship. The next race will be held from November 1 to November 3 in Malaysia.
