•Patent design leaked
•Might be showcased at the EICMA this year
•Could also be filed to secure the design patent
In the last two weeks, we have encountered multiple design patent filings from Hero MotoCorp. Earlier, it was the probable Karizma XMR 250 with the 2.5R Xtunt-based bike, and now it is a model similar to the Mavrick 440.
The newly leaked design image shows the bike with an LED headlight and a small cowl above, just like the X440 gets. For reference, the Harley-Davidson X440 and the Hero Mavrick 440 share the platform. The design patent also shows the bike’s fuel tank with a more pronounced protrusion at the top. Even the seat appears relatively flatter than that of the Mavrick.
Other changes like a new engine crash guard, fork gaiters, new tank extensions, a braced tubular handlebar, a revised alloy wheel design, and new side panels below the seat are also visible. That said, we think this variant of the Mavrick 440 too could get the same engine. It is a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil/air-cooled engine that makes 26bhp and 36Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Apart from the aforementioned bits, the hardware seems similar to the current Hero 440 offering – telescopic front forks with dual rear springs, and a front and rear disc with road-biased tyres. We also expect similar features as the Mavrick if this model is headed for production.
Hero MotoCorp could unveil this and a few more bikes this year at the EICMA 2024.
