CFMoto 750SS sportbike image leaked before official debut
  • Powered by a 749cc, inline-four engine
  • To be positioned above 675SS sportbike
  • Weighs 213kg (kerb) and has a top speed of 230kmph

Chinese two-wheeler brand, CFMoto seems to be prepping to unveil a new sportbike called the 750SS. An image of the motorcycle recently came up in a type-approval document from China, revealing the design and a few other details about this inline four-cylinder offering. In CFMoto’s portfolio, the motorcycle will presumably sit between the 675SS inline-triple sportbike and the bike based on its newly unveiled 1,000cc V4 platform.

In the leaked document, the engine of the bike is code-named ‘472MV’. As per the tradition with Chinese type-approval documents, ‘4’ stands for the number of cylinders and ‘72’ represents the cylinder bore size. Interestingly, CFMoto’s 675cc triple-cylinder engine has the same bore size and, in order to achieve a displacement of 749cc, the stroke length must be 46mm. While the document mentions its power output as 110bhp, which is quite low for this displacement and cylinder configuration, the motor is in its initial stage of development and the final unit on the production bike might be way more powerful.

Other basic details about the CFMoto 750SS stated in the document include its kerb weight of 213kg, a top speed of 230kmph, 1419.8mm of wheelbase, and 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 sizes for the front and rear tyres, respectively. It also incorporates a Continental MK 100 dual-channel ABS system which hints at the presence of rider aids like traction control and rear-wheel lift control from the brand. The USD forks and Brembo radially-mounted brake calipers are accompanied by cooling ducts. Other elements visible in the leaked image include a single-sided swingarm, the quick shifter’s load sensor, and large, seemingly purposeful winglets donning its overly geometric and angular bodywork.

The exact launch timeline of the CFMoto 750SS is not known yet but we might see the bike make its Chinese debut early next year followed by its introduction in other markets, perhaps with a different name. Also, it might never be launched in India, unless CFMoto decides to re-enter the Indian market in the distant future.
