Introduction
The world of off-road and enduro riding in India is growing multifold. There are enough adventure motorcycles in India that are helping a lot of people explore the wilderness of the country. But there isn’t affordable off-road gear to cater to this set of buyers and the pricing makes it unreachable for the majority of riders. Rynox, knowing there was an opportunity here, decided to co-develop the new Dune Neo Trail off-road jacket and pants with Ashish Raorane – an accomplished Dakar rider.
Construction
One of the first things I noticed about the jacket and pants is how light they are. This has been done to minimise the overall fatigue the rider goes through while riding off-road. Rynox has used mesh shells to construct this gear, but these are heavy-duty ones. The famous Cordura material has also been used to offer maximum protection. To take care of our hot weather conditions, there has been usage of breathable mesh panels at various places of the jacket and the pants.
Features
The Dune Neo Trail off-road jacket and pants could possibly be the brand’s most feature-rich gear. Firstly, the jacket comes with detachable sleeves – in case the rider wants to relax during a ride or a race. There’s also a hydration pocket that can easily store a 2-litre hydration pack. This is extremely important for riders who spend a lot of time on off-beat trails. There’s also a provision to use a neck brace along with the jacket. Then, both, the jacket and the pants offer good visibility. There’s a provision to use knee braces with the pants, too.
Like every other Rynox gear, this off-road jacket and pants also come with the Wingman insurance cover.
What’s next?
I’ll be using this new Rynox gear every weekend for my off-road training. So, I’ll be spending a lot of early mornings using it on beaches, dirt trails, and also some road sections. With the summer about to kick in, it will be interesting to see how this gear performs.
