In other updates, Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed as many as 16 new SUV launches by 2030. The lineup will include 9 ICE (internal combustion engine) models, 7 EVs (electric vehicles), 3 facelifts of existing models (including XUV 3XO), and a few all-new products. All upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs will be born-electric models based on the INGLO architecture, supporting multiple battery and motor configurations.
The Mahindra XUV.e8, which will essentially be the electric version of the XUV700 SUV, is slated to make its global debut in December 2024. Its market launch is likely to happen in early 2025. Once launched, the electric SUV will directly compete with the Tata Harrier EV, due in the second half of 2024. The powertrain setup of the XUV.e8 might consist of an 80kWh battery pack and a single front-axle mounted electric motor. It’s likely to offer a range of around 500km on a single charge. The SUV will measure 4740mm in length and come with a wheelbase of 2762mm. Similar to Mahindra’s new breed of SUVs, it’s expected to be packed with several advanced comfort and connectivity features.
